London’s best summer drinking spots

Despite the fact September is just around the corner, we seem to be experiencing a bit of a heat wave over here at Luxley Towers and it’s not coming from our sunny personalities! Yes, you read that correctly: this past month has been hot hot hot!! Therefore, we have compiled a list of London’s best (and our favourite) drinking spots to help you wind up the summer months in style – drink (or two) in hand!

Tredwell’s Summer Terrace – We may be a tad bias here, but Tredwell’s alfresco terrace has to be our absolute favourite spot to enjoy a cocktail with friends or an after-work tipple with colleagues. In a special partnership with Grey Goose, Tredwell’s Bar Manager, Dav Eames has provided guests with the opportunity to sip on a selection of his take on the infamous ‘Le Grand Fizz’ cocktail. Adorned with blue and white striped parasols, fruit trees and nautical inspired décor, those wanting to escape the hustle of sweltering Seven Dials will immediately be transported to the shores of the blissful French Riviera. Bonjour Dav!

Pergola on the Roof – Established on top of a former BBC building in White City, Pergola on the Roof has not only dominated social media this summer but has been at the forefront of our minds since opening at the end of May. If it’s not the mouth-watering food trucks from Le Coq, Patty & Bun and Salt Yard to that have got us lusting after the trendy hangout, it’s their beautiful hanging florals and lively atmosphere not to be missed this sunny season.

Frank’s – Set up on the 10th floor of a multi-story car park in Peckham, the annual summer pop up restaurant and bar / installation space that is Frank’s, was one of the first of its kind, opening its doors back in 2008. Attracting an artsy array of London’s liveliest sun-seekers, visitors from all ends of the city come to meet and mingle upon the uncovered rooftop over seasonal grub, Campari cocktails and some of the best views of London. Open until October.

Queen Elizabeth Roof Garden Bar & Café – Hidden away on top of yet another old multi-story carpark on our urbanised South Bank is a little garden so beautiful, it rivals Eden’s. With a range of flowers and vegetables growing in flowerbeds, guests are invited to spread out on the grass and sip on a range of cocktails and wine offerings from the pop-up van-come-bar. It’s all very cute and we LOVE it – especially the fact that tiny dormice are seen scurrying around as dusk approaches…

The Gilbert Scott’s Indoor Live Herb Garden – There’s no other option but to end our summertime drinking round-up with this exciting and truly stunning offering from The Gilbert Scott’s iconic bar. The indoor Provençal herb garden provides bartenders with fresh garnishes to pick and add to their summer twists on the Bloody Mary, as well as other delicious seasonal cocktails. Not only is this beautiful creation a stone’s throw from St Pancras’ night tube but sits below the Renaissance hotel. Room for one, si’l vous plait?
